Mount Inerie

Mount Inerie has a height 2245 meters above sea level. Part heavily wooded mountain found only on the west slope of the mountain. The forest on the slopes of the southern region has been converted into plantations. Most of the forest contained in this area lies at an altitude of 1000-1500 meters above sea level.
Mount Inerie had erupted in 1882 and 1970. This mountain to climb when the busy season, ie between June to August.
From the top of the Mountain, hikers can freely view the beautiful scenery in every direction. Scenery City Bajawa northwest, with a light mist on it, looked like small towns and old in Europe. Meanwhile in the southern ocean looks blue Savu, pressed at the foot of Mount Inerie.
On the south side of Mount Inerie peak there is a large stone believed to be the embodiment of figures and horses Jaramasi mount. According to legend, was a warrior Jaramasi Mount Inerie guard. The word, “prison” means horse and “Masi” is the name of the person (male). It means “Masi’s horse”, which is a hero in the area of the foot of Mount Inerie township.
Inerie Mountain is located in Bajawa Ngada district capital, the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

From Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara Province, tourists can catch a plane to Ende, a town on the island of Flores. Arriving there, the journey continues towards the City Bajawa which is about 61 kilometers. Then the tourists can go on with a freight charter tours to the villages, Bena, which is located 15 km south of Bajawa. This is the last village before heading to the summit of Mount Inerie.
Every visitor no admission charge.

In the village of Bena tour which became the gate toward the top of Mount Inerie, there are places like the inn lodging and restaurant.
