Greatest Epic in La Galigo Museum

LA Galigo is a great epic. This work has 31,500 pages, longer than Ramayana and Mahabarata epics that very popular in Indonesia. La Galigo epic drama often performed in some cities around the world. This biggest work script is stored in the La Galigo Museum.

La Galigo Museum located at Rotterdam Fortress, at Ujungpandang Street No 1, Makassar, Province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is about 600 meters from the central city (Karebosi Field).

Overview
La Galigo is a classic work of Tana Luwu, the northern part of South Sulawesi. The epic tells about civilization. Through La Galigo telling revealed that someone called Sawerigading had been exploring the world 1,000 years ago. La Galigo was the son of Sawerigading.

The authorized name is La Galigo Museum of South Sulawesi Province. This museum was inaugurated in 1974. The museum consists of two floors. In addition to the original manuscript La Galigo stored as micro film script, this museum also stores various collections.
