Rod Stewart set to stage Jakarta Exclusive Show in January 2012

While 2011 was highlighted with considerable number of international concerts in Indonesia, next year 2012 will commence with even a bigger “bang”. Starting in January, Jakarta will witness the performance of yet another legend of music: Rod Stewart.

Scheduled to take place at the Jakarta Convention Center on 31 January 2012, the concert is part of The Greatest Hits Tour and will feature all time classic hits of the great singer Rod Stewart.

Organized by Big Daddy Live Concert collaborating with MP Enter, the concert will be the first opportunity ever for thousands of fans in Indonesia to finally come face to face and enjoy the show of this charismatic singer. “Rod Stewart has never been to Indonesia, and he rarely comes to Asia due to his very tight schedule, but he knows that he has a lot of fans in Indonesia and he sees this as an opportunity to meet fans in Asia, and he therefore chose Indonesia” stated Michael Rusli, President Director of Big Daddy Live concert.

Jakarta is the only city in Asia that Rod Stewart visits during this tour, and the city will have the honor to witness his captivating performance first before he continues his journey to Australia.

The concert itself is set to be an exclusive and intimate show intended to quench the years of longing of Rod Stewart’s fans, without featuring any opening act or collaboration with other artists.”It will be about 2 hours of nothing but Rod Stewart” said Dani Soegiarso, co-founder of MP Enter. The intimacy and grandeur of the show will also be enhanced by the latest sound system equipment, artistic lighting and decoration, Giant screen features, and an attractive stage setting. Adding to the exclusivity is the ambience of the Jakarta Convention Center, which is known to have the best sound acoustic in Indonesia, and 3000 seats prepared for the convenience of the audience as requested by Rod Stewart’s management.

The grand scale of the show is confirmed by its total cost which is reported at a staggering IDR 20 billion. “This is, by far, the most expensive show that we ever staged” stated Rusli. He further added that the cost in bringing Rod Stewart and preparing all the necessary requirements are all worth it, considering the artist’s levels of stardom.

Tickets are already available for purchase from December 7th at www.myticket.co.id or MyTicket outlets spread all across Indonesia. Ticket prices are sold in six categories, ranging from IDR 1.5 million to IDR 15 million, making it also one of the most expensive shows in terms of ticket prices.

Rod Stewart has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. In the UK, he has garnered six consecutive number one albums, and his tally of 62 hit singles include 31 that reached the top 10, six of which gained the number one position. He has had 16 top ten singles in the U.S, with four of these reaching to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the “The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists”. He was voted at #33 in Q Magazine’s list of the top 100 Greatest Singers of all time, and #59 on Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Singers of all time. In 1994, Stewart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, confirming his legendary status.

With everlasting hits such as “I don’t Want to talk about it”, “Have I told you lately”,”Sailing”, or “All for Love”, the distinctive raspy voice of Rod Stewart has captivated audiences for decades. On January 2012, the historical performance of Rod Stewart in Jakarta will surely be something that no one can afford to miss.
